  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions.
  3. Once baked, let the cake cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until creamy. Then add mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. In a shallow dish, combine coffee and coffee liqueur. Dip each cake layer into the coffee mixture quickly.
  7. Layer the soaked cake and mascarpone mixture, repeating until all ingredients are used.
  8. Spread the remaining mascarpone mixture on top, dust with cocoa powder, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
