Stuffed Italian Meatloaf

  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Lay the meat mixture on a sheet of parchment paper and form it into a rectangle.
  4. Spread mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce over the meat rectangle.
  5. Roll the meatloaf tightly using the parchment paper to assist.
  6. Place the rolled meatloaf seam-side down in a baking dish.
  7. Top with additional marinara sauce.
  8. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through.
  9. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meat mix.
  • Experiment with different cheeses in the stuffing.
