  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and blend well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until well incorporated.
  6. Stir in the red food coloring until uniform.
  7. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract for the cheesecake layer.
  8. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out.
  9. Spoon dollops of the cheesecake mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining red velvet batter on top.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a deeper red color, increase the amount of food coloring.
  • These brownies can be served warm or chilled.
