Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, combine the eggs, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Scoop out tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls, then roll them in powdered sugar.
Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have crinkled on top.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a more intense red color, add a few extra drops of food coloring.
Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for the best results.
