Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra chocolate flavor, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top before baking.
  • Letting the batter sit for a few minutes before baking can help the muffins rise better.
