  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt.
  4. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of a greased baking pan.
  5. Add the apple mixture on top of the pressed oat layer.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top of the apples.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in nuts or raisins.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
